Can’t wait to own the Lego 10225 R2-D2 poster?

Download at my Flickrpage the hi-res version.

I’ve just learned the much anticipated  UCS R2-D2 has been revealed on YouTube too early.
The video is now set on ‘private’. But for those, like me who couldn’t wait, Brickfanatics have added a low quality version of  the video in their own channel just in case Lego decide to pull it as they indeed did.

This build is 31 com high and 18 wide and has amazing details.
2D is set to be released in may, but the pricing is yet to be announced.
This set is very beautiful and surely one of the best official Star Wars sets.
But unfortunately I don’t think it will fit within my collections.
I’d have to think about it, because, hey, it’s R2!

Check out the video with the designers:

Dave aka F2 astonished us with his amazingly build Docking bay 327, The Deathstar hangar from Star Wars.
Build as a ‘home’ for his UCS 10179 Millennium Falcon, it’s at UCS scale and it’s massive.

This build is not only huge enough to hold the 10179 Millennium Falcon, it’s also packed with staggering details.

Dave aka F2
also integrated about 67 LED lights to make it glow at nicely dark times.

Now for the juicy details:
The size of the hangar is 90cm x 100cm. That’s four 16×32 LEGO base plates and six 48×48 base plates. The height is at 36,5cm.
He used about 10,500 used bricks, worldwide ordered via Bricklink
55 white 10,000mcd, 10 red 8,000 MCD and SMD LEDs, and 2 white SMD LED
Total costs about € 1,000

Dutch toy shop Brickshop.nl and Brickset  both broke the news with a glimpse of Lego’s Ultimate Collector Series and S@H Exclusives for 2012.

Both above mentioned websites already taken down the  information. I feel damaged is already done and with the speed information travels these days, What’s the point of trying to take this down.
Besides, what’s wrong with us already getting excited for the new sets.

So here’s the list of Lego’s UCS and S@H Exclusives for 2012:

10223 Kingdoms Joust
10224 Town Hall
10225 R2-D2

10226 Sopwith Camel
10227 B-Wing

I’m most looking forward to the UCS R2-D2.
Of course I’m curious about the B-wing. But thus far I don’t have any UCS X-wing, Y-Wing or Tie Fighter to complement the collection.

This jaw-dropping vessel served as command ship at the Battle of Endor and as the personal flagship of Darth Vader in the classic Star Wars movies. With its classic dagger-shaped design, the Executor is among the largest and most powerful vessels in the Star Wars galaxy…

The Force is strong with Jay Hoff as he delivered no small feat. He made his spectacular Star Wars diorama from 30,000 bricks and 388 minifigures.
The shuttle looks like it’s Lego’s UCS 10212 set. Which puts Jay’s MOC into prespective how huge the diorama is.

Ever since I got mine UCS Imperial Shuttle set I’ve wanted to do something similar like this. I even haven’t build the set yet… Besides the time invested to build a MOC like this, it also takes “a horrific amount of money!!” like Jay says.

This is one of the most mindblowing MOC I’ve seen and it’s…
utterly ASTONISHING!

In a previous post we inadvertently learned of the a new upcoming UCS set; 10221 Super Star Destroyer.

Is this set now being confirmed on the poster you’ll get at the May 3rd – 4th promotion?

Astonishing! Earlier today Lego.com posted this picture on their site about, what I’m guessing is new UCS set, 10221 Super Star Destroyer,  for late 2011.
There’s no further information released. And the image has since been removed.
Since Brickworld is right around the corner, I think it’s a big possibility Lego’s  going to reveal this upcoming set at the Brickworld convention.
