I just got around posting this announcement here. And what a better timing than Spider-man turning 50 today! It’s not long ago Hot Toys released their Spider-man figure from the Spider-man 3 movie. Just after the first trailers of the Spider-man reboot movie began emerging.
.
As my review from last year stated, the Hot Toys Spider-man from the third movie is great figure in it’s own right. It was for me, a must have within my sixth scale super-hero collection.
.
Now there’s this new one. From the rebooted franchise. I made no secret I like the redesigned costume. I think it’s has a more Kirby-feel to it than the previous Spider-man, which was technically a more accurate comic-version.
This new Spider-man is sleeker and more athletic-looking than the buff Spider-man from last year. And it feels more ‘grounded’. A better fit in a real world setting than the previous Spider-man which was part of a some what more campy world director Sam Raimi created.
.
I think it’s cool the makers had the balls to go forth with a redesign of such a iconic super-hero suit.
I’m not sure which Spider-man I want to put in front. I have to see this figure in hand to make a judgement. I like the detailing. This time there’s a head sculpt included of Peter Parker, portrayed by Andrew Garfield. And he has webshooters! The spider emblems are reminisced of the Raimi’s Spider-man, but I like that. What I don’t like are the yellow lenses and the glossy coating on the suit. But then again, I have to see it in real life.
A really big disappointment is the lack of accessories and the price tag. Almost $50,- more than last year’s version, which had more accessories and even a cool piece of building.
This Spider-man is expected to swing by around februari, next year.

With The Avengers released over a week ago, we can now focus on the next highly anticipated super hero movie: The Amazing Spider-man.
The second, awesome, theatrical trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, from Marc Webb’s reboot of the franchise, has been released by Sony Pictures.
Just around at two and a half minutes, it features action packed scenes, lot’s of web-slinging and tons of new footage. Including the Lizard! More of the story is revealed in this trailer.
I was a bit reserved about this new Spider-man movie, but after seeing this trailer I am very much looking forward to it! Enjoy the trailer. I know I did!
The film opens July 3 in 2D and 3D and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Campbell Scott, C. Thomas Howell, Embeth Davidtz and Annie Parisse.
Another poster for The Amazing Spider-man, three day before the new trailer for the movie, set to hit theatres july 3rd.
Besides looking as a previous Spider-man 2 poster, it’s nothing new really. We’ve seen the image before and made it into a similar fanmade poster.
A few changes are added. The most obvious are: The reflective mirror lenses are replaced with bug-like ‘eyes’. There’s some blood/battle damage on the suit. The left foot is replaced.
Enjoy the hi-res version.
Looking familiar? Nice detail is Spider-man’s wounds are on the same places as in the Spider-man 2 movie poster.

Just after the release of the IMAX poster for the Amazing Spider-man, Yahoo! Movies just released the theatrical poster. Nothing fancy and not giving a lot to look at, but I still like this poster.
The posters are the sameway meaningless as the posters were for Raimi’s Spider-man movies, but in an other colour scheme. So the fan-made poster a few days back wasn’t that far off…
Ik like the way Spider-man is stuck to the building. A very classic pose. Still I hope for more ‘designed’ poster featuring more cast to really differentiate itself from it’s previous movie incarnation.
What do you thing of it?
As I was hoping for, the new official The Amazing Spider-man poster are being released.
This is the IMAX verion for the International markets (from an US view).
I like the poster. Though saying nor showing anything about the movie, I like simpleness and the depth of field of a vey clear view of our new Spider-man within cobbweb. Although nothing Amazing yet, it could have been easily a teaser poster, it’s hasn’t deminished my anticipation for the new movie.
Starring Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to hit theatres in the Netherlands on July 4rd, 2012.
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
It’s not all Avengers out there. Here the Japanese trailer for the Amazing Spider-man with new footage!
I am liking it even more than Raimi’s Spider-man interpretation of the character. And Spidey’s updated suit has grown on me. It really fits this modern version of the character.
